Goals

Based on the tradition, the goal of the 8th International Symposium on Cell/Tissue Injury and Cytoprotection/Organoprotection in Budapest is to provide updates on cell and tissue injury, as well as protection. The focus will be on the entire GI tract, e.g., esophageal, gastric, duodenal mucosal injury and ulcers, brain-gut and gut-brain axis, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, role of microbiota in the intestinal mucosal homeostasis, and the role of progenitor-stem cells in healing. Moreover, mechanism of cell/tissue injury and cyto/organoprotection of other tissues (e.g., cardiovascular, liver, central and peripheral nervous system) will also be discussed.
