9.00h-9.40h		 Zsolt Illes: The immune system and immune-CNS interactions; Pathogenesis of neuro-immune diseases (overview of the respective roles of cell-mediated mechanisms, antibodies, complement , cytokines, innate and adaptive systems. How does the genetic background affect the occurrence of these diseases? HLA, signaling systems etc).

10.40h-11.20h		 Kevin Rostasy: Clinical and laboratory approach to a demyelinating episode in the CNS, differential diagnosis.
Lecture 4
11.20h-12.00h		 Maarten Lequin: Demyelinating lesions in the CNS: radiology and radiological differential diagnosis (radiologist’s demonstration of a variety of cases, vit B12 def, Lyme, Behcet, …)

  • New treatment modalities in MS
  • Diagnostic pitfalls in peripheral nerve signs
